Does VCS Matters Really Matter To Me?

By anon - Posted on 15 October 2007

Well first things first, who am I? My name is Nathan Cadogan and I work as a Development Officer for Active Citizenship and the Volunteer Centre at BVSC. My main focus has been around Youth Volunteering. Youth Action is and has been my passion. I am lucky as my work involves the promotion and creation of opportunities for Young People, a job I am passionate about.

I have heard of VCS Matters but not been involved in any of the work behind the agenda, so I guess I'm an outsider, hmm, or am I?

This is the first time I have looked into VSC Matters and always when asked to 'look out this new website' or 'check at this Organistion', I ask myself, mostly silently, '... but does it really matter to me?'

Well on first browsing of this site I suppose it does. I haven't got into the juicy bits yet but I am mostly intriged by the above strapline. I am Trustee for Youth Action Network an organisation which hopes to empower Young People to improve their lives and others within the community.

So, does VSC Matters matter to me? Yes, I guess it does!

Check out www.youthactionnetwork.org.uk - you may want to ask yourself before you visiting the site does, 'Youth Action really matter to me?'
