Continuing its focus on safeguarding, VCS Matters in co-operation with the Third Sector Assembly held an event on ‘Understanding Safeguarding' on 6 February. Key aspects included the role of Birmingham Safeguarding Children's Board (BSCB) and of the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) as well as aspects of inter-agency working including the Common Assessment Framework (CAF), the Contact Point national database of children and young people, and the Birmingham children's services directory on www.Ineed2know.org.uk
