Do you …

● work for an organisation that is contracted or subcontracted to deliver public services,
or involved in supporting organisations that deliver public services.
● find contract agreements are often lengthy, technical and difficult to understand.
● want to understand the legal implications of contracts before you sign?

In partnership with NAVCA’s Local Commissioning and Procurement Unit, this one-day training has been developed by Michelmores law firm, a leading provider of legal services to charities. The training will be delivered by Shivaji Shiva, Head of Charities and Social Enterprise.

Training aims:

By the end of the day you will:

● have a basic awareness and understanding of the legal status of contracts
● understand common contract clauses, legal terms and implications for voluntary sector organisations
● be aware of potential pitfalls and ‘danger signs’ in order to know when to seek clarification or further advice
● understand how contracts might be negotiated following a tendering process.

Overall outcome:

You will better understand the implications of signing a contract and so be better equipped to negotiate
contracts.
