Youth Rehearsal Programme

The Future Melting Pot (TFMP) is an organisation set up to provide business support to young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. TFMP are based at the Big Peg in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, and provide a range of services designed to help budding entrepreneurs develop their business ideas, supporting them right through from conception to actualisation.

Youth Rehearsal Programme

The Youth Rehearsal Programme is designed to engage with young people interested in business, and will include both personal development and enterprise training. It is aimed at young people living in highly deprived areas who have been claiming a benefit for three months or more.

The programme is designed around the needs of individual participants, and has a focus on self-employment. It will include a variety of workshops and training sessions with industry professionals to open up the minds of participants to the opportunities available to them. There will also be a business simulation project so participants can work alongside professionals to learn about the processes of setting up their own business. Each participant will draw up an action plan with an assigned mentor, enabling us to tailor the programme to their needs as well as allowing them to chart their progress and develop their ideas. Applications are now open for this programme and will close on 7 May 2010. Interviews will commence on 17 May. We have 20 places available on the programme and expect to receive a high volume of applications, so please apply early. We currently have a taster session scheduled for you to come and find out more about of the programme, speak to our team/professionals etc. This is to be held on Thursday 6 May, 1pm-4pm at The Big Peg, 120 Vyse Street, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham B18 6NF.
